Ooo Hoo! They're done - my project chairs from refinishing class. They came out beautiful - the wood is rich and warm, and the vinyl is a crisp bone color. (Thanks J for the fancy vinyl hook-up)
I have to say, refinishing these in the proper and age appropriate way is insanely more satisfying than painting or half-assed staining them would have been - this is now my new standard when it comes to vintage pieces!!
I had a great time and learned a ton at class - The Eliot School is an excellent resource for anyone in the Boston area.

they look fantastic! i love those wooden circle-y bits which probably have an actual name. :)
Thanks so much! I don't think they have an actual name - just wood plugs. They cover the screws that attach the back to the chair.
This makes me want to move to Boston to get my learn on... these chairs RULE!
